Tom Kuo (vice president of Asia) INTERNATIONAL BARTENDER ASSOCIATION came to India for the very first time just to meet IBG. Yes because they both are working for the super cause of promoting BARTENDERS and their talent. He spent his good 3 days in the national capital as Archit Singhal (President of IBG) made it so easy and interesting for him.
When duo got together it was whole lot of planning and discussion on how to make this profession a REAL PROFESSION. Not to forget there was some roaming in the streets of Delhi as Tom wanted to see some temples around Delhi. Whenever he goes for a visit to any country, temples are the first thing that he wishes to go. Akshardham really fascinated him because of its well developed structure and of course the beauty of its fine carvings that he couldn’t take his eyes off. Shopping was on his second list that to from the local market so we took him to Delhi Haat and he bought stoles of all the colors that were available at that point of time for his wife and 6 beautiful daughters.
If you come to Delhi and you don’t try the food then you are missing on something really special. But thanks to Archit he didIn’t wanted Tom to miss the essence of Indian spices as he himself is a foodie. We took him to a nice café called Café Delhi Heights at DLF PROMENADE. Tom wanted to have something really spicy as he was also keen on tasting the real Delhi food. We ordered butter parantha with paneer sabji stuffed with veggies and on his demand we ordered green chilly shallow fried in desi ghee which was something he enjoyed like hell. We also took him to some good bars around Delhi and Gurgaon and some talented bartenders actually displayed that India is not far behind and that we also have some extraordinary talent to showcase and this the reason Indian bartenders will be going to TAIWAN ‘GOLDEN CUP COCKTAIL COMPETITION’. Isn’t this pretty awesome?
He liked every bit about India and hospitality that he got and assured us that he’ll visit again and invited us to Taiwan as well. It was so kind of him that he got some special chocolates and green tea from Taiwan for us. It was such a sweet gesture from his side. We also gifted him a handmade diary totally traditional on which he promised he’ll make his important notes on.
LET’S GET SET FOR THE TAIWAN COMPETITION COMING UP IN DECEMBER…AND ROCK IT ON ROCKS!!!
